Over the course of a distinguished career spanning three decades, David has earned a reputation as both an innovator and trusted thought leader within the life insurance industry. His expertise spans carrier and agency operations, underwriting, and distribution, where he has consistently driven meaningful advancement and operational excellence.

Before joining 3Mark, David served as a Large Case and Exceptional Risk Underwriter with Protective Life and American General, formerly part of AIG. During his tenure at American General, he helped pioneer some of the industry’s earliest paperless and automated underwriting workflows—forward-thinking initiatives that set new standards for efficiency and service. He also led the development of one of the first tele-underwriting units designed to reduce traditional blood and urine requirements, minimize APS dependency, and introduce an early Smart Underwriting System.

Widely respected for his creativity and disciplined approach to underwriting, David is an active member of the Brokerage Underwriting Forum and the American Home Office Underwriting Association. He has contributed his insight and leadership on numerous industry panels and operational committees, offering strategic feedback to carriers and vendors.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, David’s greatest pride is his family. He and his wife, Rachel, share a strong and enduring partnership. Together they enjoy supporting their children in their athletic pursuits: Zachary, in professional baseball with the Atlanta Braves organization;  Madison, an incoming collegiate softball player; and twins Hannah and EmmaLeigh, both aspiring collegiate softball athletes. Their family life reflects the same dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence that David brings to his professional endeavors.
